Muskan’s love for coffee was ignited in Nepal, where she learned the art of coffee making and worked as a barista trainer. In 2019, she moved to Sydney with hopes of continuing her career in the vibrant Australian coffee scene. Despite her skills and experience, Muskan faced an uphill battle. For the first month, she struggled even to land a trial in a café. The language barrier and the unfamiliar variety of coffee beverages made the transition even more daunting.
Determined not to give up, Muskan began to understand the nuances of Australian café culture and the techniques needed to apply for jobs effectively. Gradually, she started to get trials and eventually secured her first job. Adapting to this new environment was challenging, but Muskan’s determination and passion for coffee saw her through. She learned to navigate the cultural differences, mastered new coffee beverages, and overcame language barriers, becoming a proficient and confident barista in Sydney.
Through her journey, Muskan realized how difficult it can be for skilled international individuals to secure barista jobs in a new country. She saw a gap between her training and the expectations of the local coffee industry. This realization inspired her to create Coffee With Muskan, a place dedicated to bridging that gap and empowering others with the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
